THE West Wiltshire Multi Faith Forum is hosting an event next month to celebrate ‘International Women’s Day’.
The free event will be held at the Guides headquarters in King George V park, and will involve a belly dancing workshop; a talk from mayor of Melksham, cllr Adrienne Westbrook; and time for attendees to share stories about their favourite women.
Organisers say, “This is our first community event to be held in Melksham. We will plan more community events in Melksham if it is successful.
“Guests attending are requested to bring a photo of their favourite woman with a short description.”
For children over the age of 7 the group has arranged for Active Trowbridge to host sporting activities in the Scouts headquarters building adjacent to the Guides building. Activities will include basketball, dodge ball and archery. For younger children there will be craft activities and henna in the Guides building.
The ‘Women’s Day’ event will take place on Saturday 9th March at the Guides headquarters building in King George V park from 10am to 1.30pm. For more information contact the West Wiltshire Multi Faith Forum by email: wwmff1@gmail. com or contact Farzana Saker on 07834 812663.
