THE Melksham Community Meals team has decided to cancel its first Sunday lunch of 2022 because of the ever-changing Covid situation.
The meal was due to take place on Sunday 9th January 2022 at the Assembly Hall.
Chair of Melksham Community Meals, Sue Mortimer, said, “We just thought that in the current Covid crisis, rather than wait to see what Prime Minister Boris Johnson says, we would make the decision ourselves in order to keep everyone safe.
“So the first Melksham Community Meals Sunday lunch of 2022 will now be on Sunday 13th February 2022 at the Assembly Hall.
“This also allows the team time to do a further Covid risk assessment and to put in any further measures that will go towards keeping our staff, volunteers and users safe for future meals.
“Thank you all for being so understanding and look forward to receiving bookings for Sunday 13th 2022.”
Other dates for Sunday lunches at the Assembly Hall are 13th March, 10th April, 8th May, 12th June, 10th July, 14th August, 11th September, 9th October, 13th November, and their Christmas meal will be on 11th December. Doors open at 11.45am.
