TWO local charities were the real winners when Melksham Town Ladies’ FC took on Melksham Ladies’ Rugby FC for a game of football.
The Melksham Town Ladies’ team beat the Melksham Ladies’ Rugby team 8-2, raising £2,426.28 that will be split between Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Splitz Support Service – rocketing past their original target of £750.
“It was a brilliant turn out and overall a really fun day,” said one of the organisers, Melanie Paterson.
Spectators at the football fundraiser at the InfiLED arena pitch at Oakfields, also enjoyed a penalty shootout, and a charity raffle.
