THE winners from last month’s Seed and Plant Swap colouring competition have been announced by the Melksham Pet Food Bank, which were given the funds raised on the day.
The Seed and Plant Swap was held on Saturday 23rd March at the Rachel Fowler Centre. The overall winner is Oliwia Wisniewska, aged nine years. Other winners include: Dorothy Sprules, aged three; Mabel Wittard, aged four; Finley Thomson, aged five; Thomas Kirkman, aged five. Thomas Sievewright, aged six; Hallie Ayliffe, aged eight; Maisie Williams aged nine; and Izzy Williams aged 10.
“Congratulations to everyone! We had lots of entries and all so good and so difficult to judge. You are all winners. Thank you for entering,” says Wendy Isaacs, organiser of Pet Food Bank and the Seed and Plant Swap.
From donations for entry, refreshments and the raffle, £257.35 was raised, with £160 being donated to the Melksham Pet Food Bank. “This will be used to top up any shortages in food in the bank, and any we can put to one side will go towards securing premises in the town centre, which we are desperately trying to do,” explained Wendy. “The Seed and Plant Swap was organised by myself with help from Julie Lavery and was made possible by the wonderful volunteers that helped out on the day. This was our second Seed Swap, and we were overjoyed at the huge turnout again this year. We intend this to be an annual community event.”
