Colourful end of term for local primary school

Children at Bowerhill Primary School had an energetic end of term last month at the school’s annual colour run. 

The school held its fourth colour run, organised by the PTA group Bowerhill Buddies, with children and staff taking part in the colourful fundraising event. 

During the afternoon, children ran laps of the track while being sprayed with water guns before clouds of brightly coloured powder paint were thrown, leaving pupils covered in vibrant colours by the finish line.

A spokesperson for Bowerhill Buddies said, “This event is great fun and allows parents to get involved. It’s a fabulously fun afternoon for all.” 

The event is a key fundraiser for the school. “We are currently counting monies raised from this year’s event, but last year we raised £4,362,” the spokesperson said. 

“This money goes back to enriching and enhancing the school environment and journey for every child at Bowerhill Primary School. 

“The whole school was filled with excitement, music, cheers and non-stop smiles, creating an unforgettable afternoon for everyone from Reception right through to Year 6. It was wonderful to see both children and adults joining in the fun and making such special memories together.”
