A comedian who has appeared on programmes including Mock The Week and Live At The Apollo is bringing his latest stand-up show to Melksham next month.
Andy Parsons will perform Please #@!$ Off To Mars at Melksham Assembly Hall on Thursday 1st October as part of his UK tour.
The show tackles the challenges of modern life with topical humour, including satirical takes on politics, technology and the world’s biggest personalities.
The English comedian began his career writing for Radio 4’s Weekending before becoming a writer for the original Spitting Image on ITV. He later became a regular panellist on Mock The Week and has appeared on programmes including Live At The Apollo and The Comedy Store.
He has also released five comedy specials and performed at comedy festivals around the world, winning awards at the Edinburgh Festival, the New Zealand International Comedy Festival and Montreal’s Just for Laughs Comedy Festival.
Assembly Hall Manager Robert Reay-Waugh said, “It’s great to see that the Assembly Hall can attract artists and comedians of this calibre and profile. The whole team is really proud of what shows are coming to Melksham and we are really positive about what this means for the venue long term.
“For us it’s about giving our local community a chance to see nationally recognisable names right on the doorstep than always having to travel further afield, while also contributing to our local economy.”
