COMEDY star Rob Beckett entertained a huge crowd of fans at the Assembly Hall last week as part of his Mouth of the South tour.
It was a dark and miserable night last Friday but spirits were high and the laughs were loud for comedian Rob Beckett who brought his first solo stand-up show to Melksham.
He began with a comment on how he felt, looking at the audience, he felt like he was at a council meeting. He said, “I can’t sort out your parking problems or any other complaints.”
During the 75-minute show Rob talked about how he is recently married and how his wife has a ‘proper job’ as a teacher, also about his mum going through the menopause and how no-one does Christmas like his family.
Rob also gave a shout out to Morsecurity who were in charge of keeping things in order on the night. The crowd gave a huge cheer when Rob announced they would be donating their wages from the evening to charity.
Fans took to social media after the gig. One wrote, “Great show, Rob Beckett was awesome.” Another wrote, “Rob Beckett was incredibly funny.”
Despite the high winds and drizzling rain, Rob met fans afterwards to say thank you for coming out. He shook everyone’s hand as they left the hall – all 450 of them!
