On Thursday 26th October fans of the classic 80s film Dirty Dancing can enjoy A Night of Dirty Dancing: The Ultimate Tribute Show. Relive the passion, the romance and joy of the cult classic and celebrate the music of one of the greatest movie soundtracks of all time. Be part of the glorious summer of ‘63 and experience all your favourite songs such as She’s Like The Wind, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Hey Baby, Wipe-out, Hungry Eyes and of course the Oscar winning (I’ve Had) The Time of my Life. On Friday 27th October, tribute band to The Cure, The Cureheads, take to the stage. The Cureheads are the world’s most established tribute to The Cure, having played to over half a million Cure fans all over the globe since 1990, going to painstaking lengths to re-create the atmosphere and sounds and smells of a real show of The Cure at their 1990 peak. Tickets £10.
Internationally acclaimed comedian Jimeoin comes to the Assembly Hall on Sunday 29th October with his ‘The Ridiculous Tour’. Jimeoin’s brilliantly observed, ever-evolving and hilarious stand-up has made him the undisputed award-winning star of TV shows including ‘Live at the Apollo’, ‘Sunday Night at the Palladium’, ‘John Bishop Show’, CH4’s O2 Comedy Gala’ and the ‘Royal Variety Performance’. Join Neil Sands and his wonderful west end cast with the 2017 version of their hit Christmas production. Described as “a sparkly Christmas card come to life.” The show has a wonderful set and falling snow, over 40 stunning costume changes, more than 60 of your all time favourite Christmas songs and even a Victorian Carol concert. On Thursday 9th November, Status Quo fans can look forward to a night packed full of all the hits with tribute band, The Quo Experience.
The Quo Experience is an East Anglian-based band with an impressively experienced line-up including Shaun Michaels (as Francis Rossi) and Dave Crawte (as Rick Parfitt), who have both featured in quality ‘Quo tribute’ acts in the past. Shaun and Dave have spent years studying every detail of Rossi and Parfitt’s looks, playing styles and stage performances to make sure they are both as close to the real thing on stage as is possible. Tickets cost £20, concessions £18. Show starts at 7.30pm.
