There is a busy month coming up at Melksham Cons Club with live music, an over-55s afternoon disco and open mic and quiz nights.
Things get under way this Saturday, 10th October when it’s all aboard the Train to Skaville.
The Wiltshire-based band, which is celebrating 15 years of touring around the UK, will bring live ska, reggae and rocksteady music to the club with an 8.15pm start.
Tickets cost £5 and are available in advance behind the Cons Club bar, via Ticket Source or on the door. Non-members are welcome as they are to all this month’s event.
Dave Jenkins, from the Cons Club, said: “If you’re after a lively time and want to move that body and have fun, please come and support another fantastic band.”
There’s more live music on Saturday 24th October, when blues and rock band Riverstone make their debut at the Cons Club, with music starting at 8.30pm.
The club will also host an over-55s afternoon disco on Friday 16th October, from 12.30pm to 3pm, featuring music from the 1960s, 70s and 80s.
“Join us for an afternoon of great music, dancing, company and fun!” said Dave. “Entry is £2.50 and even includes a free tea or coffee!”
An open mic night will follow on Saturday 17th October, from 7.30pm, giving local performers the chance to showcase their talents in front of a live audience with free entry.
“Come and show off your talents or watch others,” added Dave. “Everyone’s welcome to come along and take the stage with singing, comedy or poetry – or simply to enjoy an evening of local talent.
“Wanna sing? Read poetry? Make everyone laugh with your epic stand up? Play an instrument? Ventriloquist? Whatever your talent or passion, the stage is yours!”
The month will finish with a quiz night on Sunday 25th October. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start, with cash prizes and a raffle. Teams can have a maximum of four people.
