A COMMUNITY Day, showcasing what the Melksham community has to offer, is taking place on Saturday 22nd April.
Although organised by the Melksham Seniors group, it is aimed at everyone, whatever their age, with families very much welcomed.
“In the centre pages of this week’s Melksham News you can read about the Community Day event that Melksham Seniors are hosting with the support of Melksham Town Council,” explained Brian Warwick, chair of the Melksham Seniors 55+ Forum.
“The event – on Saturday 22nd April at the Assembly Hall from 11am until 3pm – provides a great opportunity for all our citizens young and old to see and talk to a wide range of local organisations who do a fantastic job in helping to improve the quality of life for so many people in our community.
40 groups
“More than 40 local groups will have stalls ranging from arts & crafts to whist and from knitting and nattering to line dancing! I’m always amazed at the range of clubs and organisations on offer in the Melksham area and this is your chance to come and see just what is available.
“There is certainly something for everyone, whether you want to learn a new skill, take up a new sport or pastime, get fit or learn how to use a computer.
Suggestions
“Just come along to chat to the local groups or to make suggestions yourself for what you would like to see in the town.
“Please make a very special effort to drop into the Community Day event on Saturday April 22nd and let your friends and neighbours know that the host of this community wide project, the Melksham Senior 55+ Forum, will be delighted to welcome them.”
