THE community came out in force last month to tidy up the local area for the Great British Spring Clean.
Local schools and organisations joined with local councils to carry out litter picks across the area, battling against the snow, wind and rain.
Over 250 bags of litter were collected by nearly 300 volunteers.
The groups involved were: Berryfield and Semington Road Action Group (BASRAG); Bowerhill Residents Action Group (BRAG); Broughton Gifford Parish Council; Community Action Shaw and Whitley; Forest and Sandridge Primary School; Melksham Air Training Corps F&S 2018; Melksham Town Tidy Team (Melksham Town Council); Melksham Without Parish Council; Seend C of E Primary School; Seend Parish Council; Semington Parish Council; St George’s School Semington.
