THE town’s Community Wardrobe is celebrating its first birthday and a year of offering donations of clothes to people in need.
The Community Wardrobe opened on Friday 13th January last year and is based above the Community Larder, in the Round House on Church Street.
Organiser of the Community Wardrobe, Adrienne Westbrook said, “It has been absolutely amazing and I have to say, people have been very, very grateful for it.”
The clothes stocked in the wardrobe rotate with the seasons, “We are so small, so we can only take what people will need now and we have to be selective about what we take,” says Adrienne. “At the moment we are looking for donations of warm clothes and warm coats. We also do toiletries and period products as well.”
Below the Community Wardrobe is the Community Larder, helping to minimise food waste by offering food that would have gone to landfill, as well as providing free food items for those in need.
