LOCAL travel company, Holidays & Cruises, says it’s ‘business as normal’ -despite the outbreak of coronavirus but that it is taking precautions and will keep customers informed of any changes to their travel plans.
Operations director Steve Plummer, of Holidays & Cruises said, “Travel is never dull, firstly going through a consortia collapse with Thomas Cook to now coronavirus!
“Despite the current health situation, business is as normal. We monitor events daily and take advice of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office on the destinations we travel to and our priority is customer safety. We are due to travel to Luxembourg and Italy in April and May and our clients will be kept informed should anything major develop.
“I personally think the media are not helping, with mis-information on locations of the virus and also scaremongering when in fact the common flu kills more in one year than this virus will do on calculation of figures provided. That said, I would suggest anyone to follow advice given especially to hygiene and we have taken the precaution to now have hand sanitsers on our coaches each time the passenger re-boards as an extra precaution for our passengers.
“Holidays & Cruises go from strength to strength after the collapse of Thomas Cook and on the 19th March launch our all new-look brochure of UK and European coach holidays, plus the addition of River & Ocean cruise.
“It features presentations by Celestyal Cruises on the all inclusive Greek islands cruise in April 2021 and NCL on the Midnight Sun cruise in June 2021, plus all the new coach destinations on offer.
“Our new destinations will feature places we have not been to before and some regulars that always prove popular. Christmas 2020 will be at North Ferriby near Hull in the Hallmark hotel and we offer no single supplement on our Christmas tour. We also have the impressive Thursford Spectacular Show in Norfolk on the 27th November which already is selling well. Scotland and Ireland also feature, as well as our popular Turkey & Tinsel breaks.”
