
Melksham Town Council completed its annual cycle of grant awards on Tuesday 13th October with the awarding of £33,000 to 44 different groups in the Melksham area.
Melksham Mayor, cllr Terri Welch, presented the cheques to representatives of the groups.
She said, ‘Melksham is lucky to have so many people who give up their time to help such great causes. People often describe Melksham as a Small Town with a Big Heart, and that is largely due to the work of all the voluntary organisations, a lot of which are represented here.’
The groups who received grants were as follows: 1st Bowerhill Scout Group; AFC Melksham; Alzheimers Support; Melksham Amateur Swimming Club; Avon Bowls Club (Melksham House); Beanacre & Melksham Cricket Club; Melksham Book Fair; British Cactus & Succulent Society; Carer Support Wiltshire; Melksham Carnival; Chloe Orr Fundraiser event; Melksham Christmas Lights Group; Wiltshire Citizens Advice; Melksham Community Area Partnership; Melksham Council of Community Service; Melksham Country Dancers; Dad Club; Devizes and District Opportunity Centre; Enigma; Melksham Food Bank; Forest AFC; Forest Community Centre; Melksham Gardeners Society; Melksham & District Girlguides Association; Group Five; Melksham & District Historical Association; Wiltshire Mind; Party in the Park; Melksham PHAB Club; Rachel Fowler Centre; Royal Air Forces Association; Melksham Railway Development Group; Relate Mid Wiltshire; Melksham Rugby Football Club; Melksham & District Senior 55+ Forum; The Shed Melksham; Melksham Sixty Plus Club; Splitz Support Service; Melksham Tourist Information Centre; Wessex MS Therapy; West Wilts Model Car Club; West Wilts Special Needs Activity Scheme; Wilts and Berks Canal Trust; and Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust
