MELKSHAM Town Council has objected to an application to build 19 new homes on The Spa.
A developer has applied to build a block of eight flats and 11 detached bungalows in place of 398A The Spa and its garden.
The last issue of Melksham News reported that Melksham Town Council had not objected to the application because the response had not been displayed on Wiltshire Council’s website.
In fact the town council did object after a meeting on 7th November.
It raised concerns about the road width and the effect of parking, the development being out of keeping with the area, and road safety considering The Spa is the main route for pupils walking to Melksham Oak School.
Public consultation on the plans has closed. A decision is expected by 4th January. To see the proposal use reference 16/09712/ FUL at
