A COUPLE from Melksham have donated £270 to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, adding to the £14,000 they have already raised.
John and Sandra Phillips celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August and instead of receiving gifts, the couple asked for donations for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
The couple have been fundraising for the charity since April 2004 in memory of their daughter Michelle who was tragically killed in a car accident in Devon, when she was aged 26. To date, they have raised over £14,000.
John and Sandra invited their friends Mike and Sue Rose to present the cheque to representatives from the charity, as a thank you for their help with their party which was held at Giles’ Wood.
John said, “Sandra and I would like to say a huge thank you to Mike and Sue for all their help they gave us at the party and also to everyone who has supported us over these past 12 years.”
