AFTER a long 18 months in lockdown, the Craft, Coffee & Chat group finally got to meet in person again at the beginning of September at Bowerhill Village Hall.
The group says, “How lovely it was to meet up ‘face-to-face’ again and to share our love of all things – knitting, quilting, sewing, lacemaking, embroidery and cross-stitch to name just some of the crafts our members undertake.
“It was wonderful to hear the chatter in the room that wasn’t coming from the television or via Zoom calls and to actually see some of the items completed during lockdown. I think a few went home with sore throats from having had a good gossip….
“The founders of this group – Jenny Butcher and Marilyn Williams – had decided it was time to hand over the reins of this group to be effective at the end of 2020; however, the pandemic had other ideas and their retirement came earlier than expected!
“A big thank you is due to both these ladies as they have run this very successful group since January 2007 and their assistance and guidance will be sorely missed. We wish you both a happy and healthy retirement and hope you now have time to pursue your own craft interests.”
The group is now looked after by Ann Finch and continues to meet every other Friday afternoon from 1pm to 4pm at Bowerhill Village Hall and costs £2 per meeting, which includes tea/coffee & biscuits.
Their last meeting for 2021 is on Friday 3rd December, before they take a break for Christmas and New Year, returning on Friday 14th Jan 2022 and then every two weeks. Both previous and new members are very welcome. If you would like any further information, please contact Ann Finch on 01225 436621.
