A craft group was busy last month sewing 85 heart-shaped cushions that were sent to the breast cancer unit at the Royal United Hospital in Bath.
Denes patchwork and quilting group sewed the heart cushions at their April meeting to help patients during their post-surgery recovery period.
“These cushions are so beneficial to patients,” explained a member of the group, Lesley Bastone. “We had such a fun day making them for such a good cause.”
Denes is a patchwork and quilting group with some members also doing other needle crafts. “We have full membership at the moment but there is a waiting list; anyone is welcome as a visitor,” says Lesley.
The group meets on the first Monday of the month at Berryfield Village Hall. For more information, contact Lesley on 01225 704075.
