MELKSHAM fundraiser, Luke Dark, will tackle the Bath Half Marathon next month to raise money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance – who he credits with saving his life.
In 2014, Luke was involved in a head-on collision with a truck. As a result of the crash, Luke sustained a traumatic brain injury, leaving him in a coma for six months. When he regained conciousness, he was told by doctors that he would never walk again.
However, in the years that have followed Luke has defied his doctors, raising money for Wiltshire Ambulance by taking part in a number of events, including Melksham’s parkrun and a 14-mile walk between Bath and Semington.
His next challenge is the Bath Half Marathon, a 13.1 mile run that takes place on Sunday 15th March – the same day that marks the 30th anniversary of Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
