LOCAL group, Crazy About Knitting, are celebrating four years of tireless knitting for charity.
To mark the anniversary, the group gathered at their regular meeting place at Melksham Baptist Church for coffee, cake and, proving they are truly crazy about it, more knitting!
Since the club began, membership has grown to over 80 people and thousands of knitted items have been produced for national and international charities.
Their work was recently recognised with a Melksham Civic Award, in recognition of their efforts.
The group are now busy working on their projects for March, which include blankets, hats and bootie sets for babies in South Africa born into poverty. They are also busy working on projects for Age UK Wiltshire and the Bath Royal United Hospital.
The group meet on the first Wednesday of every month at Melksham Baptist Church at 10am. They also have a group that meet at Melksham Sainsbury’s cafe on the first Thursday of the month at 6.45pm.
