TEMPERATURES exceeding thirty degrees greeted the 51 riders who had signed up for the YAW100K cycle sportive on Sunday, which raised £800 for the young person’s charity, Youth Action Wiltshire.
The ride started at Melksham Town Football Club with riders setting off in small groups to tackle the undulating course as it headed out across Salisbury Plain, through the Avon Valley, skirting the edge of the Marlborough Downs, before heading back through Devizes and on to Melksham.
The fastest rider completed the course in an impressive three hours and twelve minutes, with the Stampede Sports Tail Riders following the field home in five and a half hours. All finishers received a YAW100K medal and a High5 goody pack.
