Wiltshire Warriors cycling club has returned to Melksham House for the second year for winter training.
The cycling club last year cleared the disused tennis courts of bramble, moss and even a few seedling trees, so they could train there on a Monday evening. This year the job has not been quite so big to get the courts ready to ride on.
The local British Cycling-affiliated club, coach and organise races for under -16s, specialising in mountain biking and BMX.
They say, “During the lighter evenings, we run training sessions just outside Holt on mtb tracks and the BMX track at Studley Green.
“The tennis courts are a perfect venue for winter training for the club who are very grateful to the Avon Bowls Club who turn out every week to switch on the overhead lights. The club is family-friendly and always ready to encourage young riders to build their confidence on a bike.”
