ALZHEIMER’S Support has reopened its friendly ‘Music for the Mind’ group, based in Westbury Leigh, with weekly sessions held at the Community Hall.
The community group welcomes people living with dementia and a family carer. Members sing songs old and new, as well as action songs that help physical co-ordination, harmonies and tongue twisters.
Sarah Marriott, head of Alzheimer’s Support’s Community Services said, “We’re delighted to be able to open more of our community groups and welcome members back. We know how much everyone has missed taking part in the activities and the camaraderie of the groups, which have a real family feel to them.”
The organisation add, “Alzheimer’s Support has carried out a thorough risk assessment and strict guidelines set by Public Health England will be followed to ensure everyone stays safe.”
