LOCAL GP practices in Melksham are introducing a revolutionary change that they say will redefine the healthcare experience for patients.
Starting on Monday 11th December for Giffords Surgery and Monday 8th January for Spa Medical Centre, a new era of patient care in Melksham will be implemented with the introduction of a new digital triage system, through an innovative and completely online booking and enquiry system.
“This shift to a digital triage system will not only enhance the efficiency of our services but also elevate the overall patient experience and improve access,” say the surgeries.
What does this mean for you?
“Your GP practice will move to a brand-new appointment booking and enquiry system. Patients will have the convenience of submitting all healthcare requests and enquiries through our state of the art ‘E-Consult’ platform. This digital avenue will be your direct link to our dedicated team, allowing you to share your health concerns with ease. This will be available using a smart phone or PC to access our website, the NHS App or directly through the E-consult online platform.
“We fully appreciate that not all our patients may have access to online systems. For these patients our experienced team will be on hand to complete the online enquiry for you over the telephone or in person at reception if you prefer, where we will have tablets available and staff on hand to assist you.”

“Upon submitting your requests, practice clinical professionals will conduct a thorough triage. This ensures that your concerns are directed to the most qualified person to address your specific health needs promptly and efficiently.”
Benefits of the digital triage system
“The new system will bring faster response times,” added the surgeries. “Bid farewell to long call wait times and being in a call queue! Our digital triage system is designed for swift responses to your health enquiries. You will receive an immediate automated acknowledgement that your consult has been received, before you are then contacted by our triage team by your preferred method within 24 to 48 hours to deal with your query.
“There will also be longer access times: E-consult will be accessible to patients from 7am till 6.30pm Monday to Friday for Giffords Surgery, times TBC for Spa Medical Centre.
