A thousand women are expected to set out from SouthGate this Saturday 14th September, pyjama-clad, bunny ears flashing, to take part in this year’s Bath Midnight Walk for Dorothy House.
Event organiser Phillippa Watson said, “I’m confident that we will see the total rise to the magic 1,000 target.”
Many of the women walking the walk on 14th September will be going out in their nightwear, to reflect this year’s fundraising focus on Hospice at Home, the service that takes care of people in their own homes during the last few weeks or days of life.
Phillippa added, “The Midnight Walk is a great girls’ night out, and we have plenty of ladies planning to get into their nighties – or pyjamas and onesies – to do the walk. Before we all set off from the start point in SouthGate, there’ll be plenty of entertainment on offer, including a great warm-up routine to get everyone in the mood.
“This is the seventh Midnight Walk, and it looks as though it will be a record-breaker. Since the first walk from Winsley in 2007, the event has grown to become our biggest fundraising event. So far, it has raised nearly £650,000 for hospice funds, making a real difference to people’s lives.”
