A DVD featuring a ‘drivers-eye view’ of a train journey passing through Melksham is now on sale at a shop in town.
Fotostop on Bath Road is stocking copies of the video, made by Angels Media and Craft Studios.
The video follows a format popular among trainspotters, and films from the cab of a class 153 diesel multiple unit as it travels along the Trans Wilts line – from Westbury to Swindon via Trowbridge, Melksham and Chippenham.
Creator Dave Alligan said, “I’ve done similar videos of trains around East Anglia and have been surprised by how popular they are. They give an unusual perspective and a lot of people have a big interest in railways.
“I must confess I’m a bit of an anorak for trains, and I think they are popular because there’s so much nostalgia around them.
“If people continue to show interest in the DVDs I would definitely like to do more. They are ideal for train enthusiasts and really do give you a feel of what it is like to be a train driver.”
The DVD ‘Westbury to Swindon: A Driver’s Eye View’ is on sale at Fotostop for £9.99 or available online from www.amc12sales.co.uk
