FOREST and Sandridge Primary School held their annual Easter Bonnet parade on Wednesday 28th March where each child was given the opportunity to show off their bonnet creation for the chance to win an Easter egg.
“Due to the rain, the Easter bonnet parade was held in the school hall for the first time in the 13 years of me being headteacher here at Forest and Sandridge,” said Anna Wilcox.
All pupils took part in an Easter Bonnet parade around the half, watched by parents and guests. Judges picked one winner from each class to receive an Easter egg from a special guest; the Easter bunny!
Judges Liz Wakely, admin officer and Alli Moon, school business manager, had a difficult time choosing from a huge range of decorative and creative bonnets. They included bonnets with flashing lights, Creme egg inspired bonnets, and some taller than the children.
The winners from each class were: Seedlings (Preschool): Riley, Apple: Sam, Cherry: Lilyana, Ash: Angel, Elm: Alfie, Holly: Lola, Willow: Logan, Birch: Taysha, Chesnut: Molly, Rowan: Cole, Sycamore: Lacey, Cedar: Alfie, Oak: Archie, Poplar: Katie, Maple: Taylor.
Vicki Liddell, acting deputy head said, “It’s such a lovely event – the height of excitement this term at Forest and Sandridge. The parents really do get involved with it and some can get very competitive, so we always see some great entries.”
