Children at Melksham’s junior parkrun enjoyed Easter fun last weekend when they all received a chocolate egg inside a knitted chick.
A total of 88 parkrun finishers received the treat, with the chicks knitted by local woman Ursula. The event also saw volunteer James celebrate his 500th volunteering milestone.
A resident, Sue Mortimer, said, “The children were absolutely thrilled to receive the treats and it was lovely to see all their smiling faces as they wandered around the King George V field with their chicks afterwards.
“Massive thank you to volunteer James for all his efforts. All children aged between four and 14 years old are welcome to take part in the King George V junior parkrun. This is a free event that takes place nearly every Sunday at 9am.”
