It has been a year of change at Melksham Oak, and while we are sad to see Mr Clark retiring as Head teacher – we are also really excited about the road that lies ahead.
Mr Clark in his twelve years, has created an ethos built on forging strong relationships between staff, students, families and the community – and we are determined to continue to develop this as a school in our work with the White Horse Federation.
We have been working hard to share our Core Values with every year group – Work Hard, Be Kind and Respect one another. These values have been embodied by our students and staff in the incredible diligence that they bring to school every day. We will be reflecting on how we look after one another in our soon to be launched “kindness week” where every member of the school will be invited to show an act of kindness for another. We are so proud of a group of students who wanted to lead Assemblies for the whole school to reflect on racism and what we could do in school and the community to raise awareness of this issue for some of our young people. This clearly demonstrates our commitment as a school to these values.
Our aim is to “place students at the centre of everything we do” and develop them inside the classroom and out. This was demonstrated by our recent activity ACORNS day where the whole school works off timetable on a range of themes that tie in to our core values. These our exciting times at Melksham Oak and I want to thank everyone for their support of the school as we continue on our journey to be a “great school.”
