PLANS to close the A36 for three months in September will cause extra traffic through Melksham on the A350 explained a representative of Wiltshire Council.
The council’s head of sustainable transport, Allan Creedy, mentioned at a recent meeting that plans to temporarily close the A36 at Limpley Stoke would mean more traffic using the A350.
But he said highways officers would be installing more monitoring equipment to see just what effect this has on the towns that the A350 runs through.
The closure starts in September and is described as likely to last three months.
