Melksham Choral Society will be holding a concert on Saturday 8th November at 7.30 pm at the United Church, Melksham.
For the musical director Paul Badley this will be a family affair as Paul will be joined by his wife and daughter. Angela is a soprano, who has previously sung with the choir in their performance of Brahms Requiem. She has also performed throughout Europe and recorded soprano solos on Sir John Eliot Gardiners CD that great Handel choral work ‘Dixit Dominus’. Their daughter Rosie will complete the family trio. She is a skilled flutist and a music scholar at the Monmouth School for Girls.
The family will be joined with local violinist Megan Moss who will play a movement ‘harsh violins proclaim’ and Michael Daniels, whose brilliant trumpet playing will add sparkle to the proceedings in Ode on St Celia’s Day and Zadok the priest. He will also join Angela for Handel’s beautful ‘Eternal Source of Light Divine’.
Sheila Jackson, on behalf of Melksham Choral said, “Once again and by popular demand we have pleasure in welcoming Jonathan Kingston as our organist for the evening.
“Who says men cannot multi-ask! Paul is going to make a very brave attempt at proving ladies wrong, he will be conducting the choir, the soloists as well as singing the tenor role.
“We have a lovely programme for the evening, supported by professional musicians, so this is an evening not to be missed. Tickets are on sale from any member of Melksham Choral Society or the tourist information centre at £10.00 before the evening and £12.00 on the night.
