THE Phillips family have set their sights on raising £20,000 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance in memory of their daughter, Michelle Phillips.
The family has been raising money for the local charity since April 2004 after Michelle was killed in a car accident in Devon, aged 26. So far, the family has raised £18,121, but now Sandra and John are planning a special celebration for their 55th wedding anniversary next year, to help push the total up to £20,000.
Sandra and John told Melksham News, “We have decided as it is our anniversary on 20th August we will ‘hopefully’ have a fundraiser dance for Wiltshire Air Ambulance in Michelle’s memory on Saturday 21st August 2021 for anyone who knows her and us, or even if they don’t!
“55 years is ’emerald’ we understand, so that really would be good as Wiltshire Air Ambulance colours are green and yellow!
“The venue is to be arranged, but we already have a band organised, with the great help always of our lovely daughter-in-law Annabel.
“We are still volunteers for Wiltshire Air Ambulance, but sadly there is not a lot we can do at the moment. So planning ahead for this event can only help the charity and be good for us all too.
“We also wouldn’t mind if anyone – Michelle’s friends or ours too of course – were thinking of doing something in Michelle’s memory for Wiltshire Air Ambulance, that would be a great help to boost her running total.”
