A MELKSHAM father is appealing for people to purchase and download a charity single to raise money for a cause close to his heart.
Lowbourne Osteopaths’ Caspar Hull’s 22-year-old daughter, Cicely Hull, lives with Cri du Chat Syndrome – a rare chromosomal abnormality that causes physical and mental disabilities.
The single, ‘Angel’ by 70’s music star John Miles, whose own grandson lives with Cri du Chat Syndrome, was released in May, with all proceeds raised being donated to Cri du Chat Syndrome Support Group UK, a charity that offers support to people living with the condition and their families.
To help promote the single, Caspar and Cicely have joined other families affected by Cri du Chat Syndrome to make a ‘carpool karaoke’ video, that shows them sign-singing or singing along to the song.
Caspar explained, “Cri du Chat Syndrome is not a sexy disability that attracts monies from pharmaceutical companies as there is no ‘cure,’ nor profit-making drug or intervention. So we collect money from our families and friends, and this wonderful record could help us give more families help with their special needs like buggies and secure car adult seats.”
