MELKSHAM Assembly Hall will show Hacksaw Ridge this Friday, 7th July at 7.30pm and A Dog’s Purpose on Friday 21st.
Hacksaw Ridge (15): The true story of Pfc. Desmond T. Doss (Andrew Garfield), who won the Congressional Medal of Honor despite refusing to bear arms during WWII on religious grounds. Doss was drafted and ostracized by fellow soldiers for his pacifist stance but went on to earn respect and adoration for his bravery, selflessness and compassion after he risked his life -without firing a shot – to save 75 men in the Battle of Okinawa.
A Dog’s Purpose (PG):
A devoted dog (Josh Gad) discovers the meaning of its own existence through the lives of the humans it teaches to laugh and love. Reincarnated as multiple canines over the course of five decades, the lovable pooch develops an unbreakable bond with a kindred spirit named Ethan (Bryce Gheisar). As the boy grows older and comes to a crossroad, the dog once again comes back into his life to remind him of his true self.
Tickets £6 and are on sale from Melksham Assembly Hall (01225 709887), www.ticketsource.co.uk/date/383388 or on the door.
