FOREST Community Centre recently held a charity football match to raise money for the AFC Melksham Ability Counts football team.
Vic Oakman, chairman of the community centre presented chairman of AFC Melksham Ability, Mike Rogers, with a cheque for £143.
Mike said, “We are so grateful to the guys at Forest Community Centre for organising the charity football match. It’s very kind of them and we can’t thank them enough.
“The money will pay for six weeks worth of training for the lads which is excellent. It’s absolutely fantastic that people care because without their support, we wouldn’t be able to continue. They were extremely hospitable as well, they fed the guys and made everyone feel so welcome.”
Vic said, “We were more than happy to help out and had a great day. Thanks goes to Stephen Wakefield who organised the whole thing.”
