Osteopath Louise Hull, and physiotherapist, Elinor Anderson, are both Perrin Technique practitioners and they will be delivering a talk next week regarding treatment for ME/CFS and fibromyalgia sufferers.
They will give a full explanation of The Perrin Technique and be on hand to answer questions.
The Perrin Technique was developed from research that looked at improving the functioning of the autonomic nervous system and lymphatic drainage. The study has provided strong evidence that an important component of CFS/ME/fibromyalgia involves a disturbance of lymphatic drainage of the brain and muscles. The conditions exhibit certain physical signs identified by Dr. Raymond Perrin that can be easily assessed and diagnosed. The novel osteopathic treatment has been statistically validated in clinical trials and is currently undergoing the rigorous assessments required by NICE to include them in their guidelines
Treatment involves teaching a self-effleurage technique to the clients to assist lymphatic drainage alongside treatment to the spine, neck and head.
