A MELKSHAM stroke charity has been given a boost after a fundraising quiz event.
Back on Track Stroke Rehabilitation group held the event held at Dragon’s Delight restaurant, which involved a meal, raffle and a quiz with many of those who benefit from the charity turning up to help raise money. The evening raised almost £200 which will all go towards the charity which aims to meet the needs for long-term rehabilitation and support of stroke survivors and their carers. Organiser and quiz master on the fundraising evening Laura Teagle said, “It has been a fantastic evening with the main thing being that everybody enjoyed themselves and raised lots of money for a good cause. We are a charity that rely on donations and fundraising events so things like this are important to us.”
The winning quiz team on the evening were the Bowerhill Beautys and the Beast who won bottles of wine and chocolate, as well as the honour of being the winners. One of the members of the winning team Laura Mortimer said, “It has been a great evening and it’s always nice to win, but the most important thing is the charity and helping raise some much-needed money.”
