Garage renovations reach milestone moment

WORK to renovate the Turnpike Garage has reached a milestone moment with the installation of new fuel tanks. 

The new few tanks – which have a larger capacity – are part of a larger project to update and renew the whole site, including the garage for MOTs, servicing, repairs, tyres, tracking and air conditioning. 

One of the owners of the garage, located on Devizes Road, Ben Johnson, says, “The fuel station side is having a complete overhaul with new tanks in the ground for a much larger capacity for diesel, super diesel, petrol, and super petrol, as well as having AdBlue – a type of diesel exhaust fluid – on the pump as well! Turnpike Garage is the first in the UK to have this pump installed that offers all these fuels as well as AdBlue on the pump.  

“Turnpike is also open 24 hours a day and is fully ‘pay at the pump’. Now, when topping up your vehicle with fuel or AdBlue, you can do this much quicker with no need to worry about leaving your vehicle unattended; which means no more worrying about leaving tools or valuables in the vehicle, or having to get any children or pets out of your vehicle because you must go into the shop to pay. 

“You can pull up, select the maximum amount you wish to pay, put the fuel nozzle in your car and pump until you choose, or the pump will stop automatically for you at your selected amount. Unlike others, our pumps don’t take a larger amount of money upfront and then give you the change a few days later, you only pay for what you have, simple!  

“We will be soon carrying out the final stages of renovations and so we will be closed to allow the contractors to finish the site, from 13th June for approximately 6 weeks.
