THE Melksham Gardeners’ Society has tentatively resumed meeting in person.
The society reports, “The Melksham Gardeners’ Society met up for their first meeting, in what seems to be forever, at Chalford Manor on July 31st. We had an amazing 42 people turn up at the venue, where we held a quiz, not as fiendish as normal but pretty taxing nonetheless!
“We were allowed to wander around the gardens – trying to beat the occasional showers – and just chatted, drank tea and coffee and generally just had a lovely get together.
“Sadly, we had to cancel this year’s Annual Show but we are holding out hope that we can have one in 2022 – fingers crossed.
“We hope to be able to get back into the Rachel Fowler Hall for the next meeting but we are taking it slowly but carefully, dates to be announced.
“Thank you to the custodians of Chalford Manor for the kind offer to host our open air meeting and to all the wonderful people who turned up including a fair number of new faces. We look forward to meeting again.”
