WILTSHIRE Air Ambulance wishes to thank everyone who took part in its Grand Christmas Draw, which raised £39,758.24 for the charity.
The Draw was made on 7th January 2016 and the winning ticket numbers were;
1st Prize £5,000: 146251 – Warminster; 2nd Prize £250: 456241 – Calne; 3rd Prize £100: 148721 – Mere; three consolation prizes of £50: 632823 – Salisbury; 098951 – Westbury and 331700 – Melksham.
Most of the winners requested anonymity. The winner of the third prize, David Cope, of Mere, near Warminster said, “I didn’t expect to win anything, so I was most pleasantly surprised to be told I had. I have supported Wiltshire Air Ambulance for a number of years. I’ve lived in Wiltshire all my life and the air ambulance is fantastic. I know people who have been airlifted by it and the team do a marvellous job.
“With Wiltshire being such a rural county, the road system is not so good and the air ambulance can fly patients to hospital quickly. As well as flying to Salisbury District Hospital which is the closest hospital to me, the air ambulance also takes patients to regional hospitals such as Southampton and Bristol.”
Rebecca de la Bedoyere, senior fundraising manager at WAA said, “We’d like to congratulate all the winners of our Christmas Draw and thank everyone who took part for their support. We had a fantastic response, proving yet again that the people of Wiltshire are incredibly generous when it comes to keeping their air ambulance flying and saving lives.
“A number of people also sent donations and every penny donated, every raffle ticket bought, makes a vital difference and means we can be there for people in Wiltshire when they need us most.”
