FOLLOWING a break in 2020, the Great Chalfield 10K run returned for its tenth edition on Thursday 24th June.
A spokesperson for Stampede Sports said, “200 socially distanced runners lined up on The Common in Broughton Gifford to take on what is probably the most picturesque 10 kilometre run in Wiltshire.
“Leading the field home in a time of 35 minutes and 12 seconds was Paul Gardiner from Chippenham Harriers, just ahead of Philip Daniels of Calne Running Club and Stuart Padget also of Chippenham Harriers. In the ladies’ race Catie O’Donoghue from Bristol & West AC led the way ahead of Laura Midwinter from Corsham Running Club and Fiona Price of Avon Valley Runners. It is hoped that the event has raised over £1,500 for Broughton Gifford & Holt Scout Group.
“The next event from Stampede Sports will be on Sunday 26th September when they are hosting the first Full Marathon to be run on the roads of Wiltshire in over 30 years at Hullavington. More details and full results of the Great Chalfield 10K can be found at www.stampede sports.co.uk”
