ATWORTH residents Fred and Audrey Lorimer celebrate their Platinum Wedding Anniversary on Wednesday 16th June.
They were married at Christchurch, Derry Hill, Calne and lived in Lowden, Chippenham for many years before moving to Atworth where they have enjoyed all aspects of village life and count themselves lucky to have such good neighbours.
Fred aged 95 and Audrey 89 are parents to daughter Jane and son-in-law Vince, grandparents to Debbie and Mark Fawcett and Lynsey and great grandparents to Ollie, Austin and Evan.
Fred served in the Royal Navy and then went onto work as a heavy plant engineer and was kept busy away from home when the motorways were first being constructed in the 1960s.
Audrey enjoyed her many years working for Fabrics Galore, both in Melksham and Chippenham, and was an accomplished dressmaker until unable to continue due to ill health. Once retired they took the opportunity to cruise the world and have many happy memories which they are more than happy to share!
Although Audrey is suffering with severe ill health and Fred continues to care for her as well as tending his garden, they are still devoted to one another.
The family intend to get-together at their village home to celebrate their anniversary
