A teenager from Melksham has won £100,000 on the popular daytime TV show Deal or No Deal.
After months of keeping a tight lip on how well his round had gone, 19-year-old Harry Harding’s show was finally aired on Channel 4 on October 29th. Harry’s game started very well as he completed an all-blue opening round, taking out the three lowest blues. The ‘banker’ confirmed it was the greatest start in over 10 years of Deal or No Deal.
Harry started to find the reds in round two but a brilliant third round put him back on course for a big payday. Harry declined £19,000 and £26,000 on his way to the fifth box and with the three largest reds left on the board, the banker offered him a gigantic £50,000.
But when show host Noel Edmonds asked the question, ‘Deal or No Deal?’, Harry replied ‘No Deal’ leaving the audience stunned.
Unfortunately the £250,000 was found in the last round but so were the remaining two blues leaving a phenomenal finish of £75,000 & £100,000.
It was clear Harry was going all the way and when Noel flipped the lid on Harry’s box, there were wild celebrations as Harry claimed Deal or No Deal’s second biggest prize of £100,000.
Harry told the Melksham News, “I’m so glad that everyone finally knows, keeping it a secret was so difficult. I watched it at work and my colleagues were in shock; I don’t think they believed that I’d actually won that much. I’m still in shock myself to be honest. It was really strange watching my game because all the feelings came flooding back. It’s just hit me that I won that much.
“First and foremost I want to look after my family, but I have bought myself a car. Other than that, I haven’t bought anything extravagant. I’ve always wanted to go travelling but never been able to, but now I can. I’m not sure where, but I’d like to see more of the world.”
