RESIDENTS of Melksham and surrounding parishes are being invited to a special conference to discuss local issues that affect the community.
The Melksham Community Area ‘Our Community Matters’ conference will take place at Melksham Assembly Hall on Wednesday 8th April.
Community engagement manager, Peter Dunford says, “A brand-new report on the issues affecting our community will be presented and you will have a chance to shape how we respond. The event will allow us to review what has changed since 2017 and discuss our priorities for the next three years.
“The community area joint strategic needs assessment will cover local issues across the following themes: arts, culture and leisure; children and young people; community safety; employment and economy; environment; health and wellbeing; highways and transport; housing; and older people; across the whole community area which includes the town of Melksham and the parishes of Atworth, Broughton Gifford, Bulkington, Great Hinton, Keevil, Melksham Without, Poulshot, Seend, Semington and Steeple Ashton.
“This evidence will help us decide how we can deliver action to address the local challenges to make the Melksham Community Area a better place to live, work and visit. Our community really does matter and I hope you can take part in this conversation.”
Doors open at 1.30pm and the event starts at 2pm. Refreshments will be available. To attend the event please, register and choose the themed table that most interests you. To book for up to two people to attend, visit: www. eventbrite.co.uk /e/melksham-our-community-matters-tickets-92887283365
