“For our talk on the History of Melksham Town Football Club on 20th April, around 60 people attended, including 20 visitors,” reports the Melksham and District Historical Association.
“They were treated to the encyclopedic knowledge of Melksham Town’s joint club president Dave Phillips, who himself has been associated with the club for almost 50 years!!
“A display of programmes and photos stretching back to the 1890s were laid out for people to view whilst sharing their memories at ‘half time’.
“Thanks to all the speakers so far this year, and we look forward to the talks resuming in September. There will be a club visit to Bromham in May, after which we will be returning to the Assembly Hall in June for an exhibition of items from our collection (the bar will be open!)
“Guests are welcome to all our functions at a fee of £3 a session.”
