MELKSHAM Holiday Club kicks off next month and will be entertaining children with a new video game they can play on their phones and tablets.
Organiser John Firth said, “Children all over the UK are playing a video game on their phones and tablets – no, not just that one! This one is called the Guardians of Ancora and is a free download from Scripture Union.”
The game – a smartphone app – includes quests, quizzes, stories and videos based on the Bible, and will be used in this year’s holiday club at Queensway Chapel from 8th to 12th August.
John continued, “Scripture Union has developed club resources from the game and the Melksham Christian community is going to use the material for this summer’s holiday club, following the success of Mega Makers and Rocky’s Plaice. People from several different churches will be leading the activities.
“The week will be full of games, crafts, drama, music, DVD presentations and Bible stories as children learn by finding lost treasure together each day.”
The Guardians of Ancora Holiday Club runs from Monday 8th to Friday 12th August from 10am to 12.30pm at Queensway Chapel and is open to children aged five to 11.
