Renowned artists, including Tinchy Stryder, Boney M and Bad Manners, are set to take the stage in Melksham this summer for a new music festival.
The Wiltshire Throwback Festival (WTF25!) is due to be held at the Oakfield Stadium with a line-up of original artists from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s playing over two days in June.
Confirmed artists include British rapper Tinchy Stryder, known for hits like Number 1 and Take Me Back; reggae and funk group Boney M, famous for Rivers of Babylon and Daddy Cool; and English ska band Bad Manners. More acts are set to be announced in the coming weeks.
Organised by JarBoom Ltd the directors, Gary Cooke and Nico Menghini, say this event is something Wiltshire has always needed.
“Wiltshire has been crying out for an event like this and we knew from the start that bringing iconic acts such as Boney M, Tinchy Stryder and Bad Manners would create a huge buzz.”
“We both love our music, so we created a festival around the artists, which we know others love too because, after all, their records, CDs, or downloads made them famous! Plus, with our different musical tastes, business experiences and skills, we complement each other perfectly to bring incredible talent to Melksham and the surrounding region.”
A teaser for the festival has been released on social media with keen festival-goers already sharing excitement for the event.
“We are overjoyed to see the reaction of Wiltshire Throwback Festival, seeing that the community and general public are as excited as we are for these amazing days to come alive,” says Nico Menghini.
The festival will take place on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st June. Tickets will be on sale from Saturday 1st March, with the full artist line-up being announced in the coming weeks. There will be a limited number of early bird tickets available and general admission sales begin from Tuesday 1st April.
