EAGLE IT Support has a new home in the town centre, offering its domestic customers easy access to its low-cost personalised computer support services.
In response to an increasing demand for domestic support, Eagle IT Support – which also offers a commercial service – has moved from Avonside Enterprise Park to Church Street.
And owner Steve Pauly says that business has dramatically increased, with customers welcoming the ‘much-needed’ service to the town centre.
Speaking to Melksham News, Steve said, “It’s been brilliant, I’ve been here a few weeks and I’ve already had more customers in those weeks than I did in six months at Avonside – it’s made such a difference!
“I’ve moved purely for our domestic customers, as they struggled to find me up at Avonside. The general feedback I’ve had from customers is that there is nowhere in the area that offers domestic repairs – they have had to go to places like Trowbridge, Chippenham or Westbury – miles away!
“So I decided, if there’s a need, why not give people that service. Hence why when I saw this unit come up on Church Street, I thought it would be ideal – people can get to us and we are easy to find.”
Customers can drop in to the store on Church Street for help with their laptops, PCs, tablets, Macs, and mobile phones.
“They can come for repairs and advice,” explains Steve, “If they are unsure how to use something I will train them – sit down one-to-one with them. I want to give domestic customers the same level of support that we offer our commercial clients. And I don’t charge for advice, if someone wants to pop in for advice, I’m not going to charge them.
“If people need help with upgrades, or if their PCs are dead – we offer a low-cost service, we only charge £19 per half hour. Larger chain stores charge £45-£50 before they’ve even looked at it.
“I’ve kept the cost down deliberately as I want to make it affordable for people, especially the elderly community as many do struggle. I’ve not had one bad comment yet, it is really good value, and people can’t believe how inexpensive it is. At the end of the day, I enjoy what I do and I want to help people in the community.
Eagle IT Support, 21a Church Street, is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm, and Saturday 10am to 4pm.
