Spencer Melksham Bowls Club enjoyed a belated Christmas dinner and prize-giving evening at the Spencer Melksham Social Club on 11th January.
Organisers said, “We were joined by Gordon King, director, and Sam Wiltshire, assistant manager, as representatives from Specsavers Melksham who are now entering a fifth year of supporting the club through sponsorship. A two-course meal was enjoyed by all before the main business of the evening.
“Club captains Steve and Jayne Edwards, alongside our guests, presented the trophies to this year’s worthy winners. As always, members were generous in their donations of raffle prizes and their purchase of tickets, raising £156 for club funds.
“The new season is rapidly approaching and members are looking forward to several events, including a trip to Torquay in February to play in an indoor bowls event.
“For those who think they would like to give bowls a try, or come back to play bowls, there will be an open day at the club on Sunday 19th April from 10am to 4pm, with details to follow in due course.”
