MELKSHAM-based Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems UK, have been manufacturing 3-D printed face masks and donating them to local care homes.
“Knorr-Bremse wanted to do something in support of the local community through the current crisis and have been utilising their 3D printing technology to produce protective face shields, which they are donating, free of charge, to local care homes,” explained Nick Brailey from the company.
“The face shields have been supplied to care homes in Melksham, Corsham and Chippenham and staff at the homes are understandably grateful for the added protection the face shields provide, for both themselves and for those they are caring for.”
The Managing Director of Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems UK, Paul Goodhand, commented, “We are pleased to have been able to adapt our technology and resources to offer support to our local community. We hope our small contribution will make a difference to the safety of both carers and residents in our local care homes during these challenging times.”
